The Pilot

With wings aloft a pilot soars,
for of the earth he is no more.

With wings of flight he has no fear,
for this is what he holds so dear.

With sky above and land below,
he has control of what he knows.

And when it’s time to homeward bound,
it’s only he who knows what was found.

For in those moments he was free,
while others look and never see.
